Word of welcome
Dear Visitors, Ladies and Gentlemen,
Welcome to the website of the Kenya Embassy in the Russian Federation with accreditation to Ukraine, Belarus and Kazakhstan. I am privileged and proud to be the Ambassador here at such an interesting time in the history of International relations.
Diplomatic missions are some of the greatest inventions of our time. They are traced to the states of Northern Italy and in particular Milan in the thirteenth century when Fracesco Sforza sent an Ambassador to the court of France in 1455 and the Spaniards send their Ambassador to the court of England in 1487. By the end of the sixteenth century, permanent state Missions became the standard norm of states representation.
In the same spirit, Kenya established diplomatic relations with Russian (Soviet Union) in the early 1960’s in the hope that the latter would contribute to her developmental problems. The first Kenyan ambassador to the Russian Federation H.E. Adala Otuko arrived in Moscow on 2nd January 1964 and his counterpart H.E. V.S. Lavrov arrived in Nairobi on 10th March 1964 shortly after Kenya’s independence on 12th December 1963. A long journey of diplomatic relations had just begun.
To wholly understand the functions of this Diplomatic phenomenon, the Kenya Embassy in Moscow through its website integrates you into its operations by giving you as much information as possible on the range of work we do together with the Russian Federation and other states of accreditation. The website also contains information that we offer or advice including visas, consular services, trade and economic investment advice, registration services, Education, Tourism and Diaspora Issues. I hope that you find information you require in here.
Please feel free to contact us by e-mail, telephone, fax or visit us in person should you require further assistance – KARIBU KENYA
H.E. Mr. Paul Kibiwott Kurgat
