Visa Fees

Transit Visa  — US$20, for 3 days (72 hrs)


Referred Visa application fee (Note that referred Visa should be applied for at least three (3) months prior to proposed journey)  US$10 (document processing fee) + fees for Single Visa (after approval of application)

Passport for Visa application are accepted Monday to Friday (every day) except during public holidays from 10.00 a.m to 12.30 p.m.


Period required for issuance of visas — 2 working days.

 

Consular fees are paid in cash in US dollars only at the Embassy. Please note that consular fees are accepted without change.

 

Visa Requirements

 

Documents required for visa application:

1. 2 copies of valid passport (Not less than six months) with at least one blank page.
2. 2 copies of visa application form duly completed with 2 recent passport size photograph attached. (download visa-application-form.pdf [92.13 Kb] (Count: 279))
3. 2 copies of invitation letter to visit Kenya and sufficient funds for use while in Kenya.
For tourists 2 copies of  invitation letter from the organizing tour company in Kenya on its official letter-head (original or fax copy) together with tour programme.
4. Local tourist company/organization is to submit in English language on its official letter-head, a Power of Attorney with the name of the representative to deliver the passports for visa application. Photocopies of representative's passport pages containing his/her photograph and other particulars are also required.
5. A return Air-ticket or onward ticket to another destination may also be required.
6. For Transit Visa, the applicant should be in possession of a valid visa to the country of destination.

 

Nationals of the following countries do not require visas to enter Kenya:

Barbados, Belize, Botswana, Brunei Darusssalam, Burundi, Cyprus, dominica, Fiji Island, Ghana, Grenada, Jamaica, Kiribati, Lesotho, Malawi, Malaysia (up to 30 days stay), Maldives, Mauritius, Namibia, Nauru, Papua New Guinea, Rwanda, Samoa, Sierra Leone, Singapore, Solomon Islands, South Africa (up to 30 days stay), St. Kitts and Navis, St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines, Swaziland, Seychelles, Tanzania, The Bahamas, The Gambia, Tonga, Trinidad and Tobago, Tuvalu, Uganda, Vanuata, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

Nationals of countries, classes and categories of persons who require referred visas:

Afghanistan,  Armenia, Azerbaijan, Cameroon, Democratic Peoples Republic of Korea (formely N. Korea), Iraq, Jordan,Kosovo, Lebanon, Mali, Palestine, Senegal, Somalia, Syria, Tajikstan

Requirements for obtaining a referred visa:

• 3 duly filled application forms
• Passport and its copy
• 3 photos
• A self-introduction letter explaining the reason of going to Kenya
• An invitation letter
• For tourists booking confirmation
• Visa fees: US$10 for document processing the visa application plus fees for Single  Visa (after approval of application)


The period of issuance of a referred visa is 3 months.

Referred visa is valid for 1 month.


Visa applications by Diplomats and Government officials on Private visit to Kenya and who are nationals of countries which require referred visas will be referred.
Nationals of the following countries who are holders of Diplomatic and official Civil Servants with "Ordre de Mission" can be issued with Visas on application:

• Cameroon
• Senegal


Import of Pets 
1. The requirements for import of pets into Kenya:

a)  The animal is accompanied by the certificate from a veterinary surgeon, signed not more than five days prior to the date of departure from the country of origin, certifying that the animal is free from clinical symptoms of any contagious or infectious disease.

b)    The animal is accompanied by a valid Rabies vaccination certificate stating

(i)      type, manufacturer and Batch №. of the vaccine;

(ii)     apparent age of the animal at the time of vaccination;

(iii)    date of vaccination.

Animals vaccinated against Rabies less than six months prior to arrival in Kenya must also be accompanied by a certificate signed by a Government Veterinary Officer of the country of origin stating that there has been no cases of Rabies within 30 miles of the place of origin of the animal within the preceding six months.

c)   The animal is accompanied by a certificate from the Captain of the ship or aircraft in which the animal travelled to Kenya certifying that the animal has no left the craft between the place of embarkation and the place of entry into Kenya, and has been isolated from all other canine and feline animals throughout the journey.


2. Any animal arriving into Kenya without the certificates stated above will be kept in quarantine, at the expenses of the owner, for up to six months. Such animal will only be allowed to leave Kenya by air or sea.


3.The arrival of any animal entering Kenya other than by sea at Mombasa or by air at Nairobi must be reported to the nearest veterinary office within three days of arrival.


4.Validity of Rabies Vaccines

A certificate of Rabies vaccination is valid for all canines which are over the age of six months at vaccination and all felines which are over the age of four months at vaccination, for the period specified providing that one of the following approved vaccines has been used:

a) Phenolized (inactivated) vaccine:

     Canines and felines – one month to 12 months post vaccination

b) Living Avianized vaccine:

    (Flury or Kelev strain) Canines – one month to 36 months post vaccination.

Felines – one month to 12 months post vaccination.

5.You are required to pay US $50 for a license to import canine or feline animals into Kenya at the Kenyan Embassy in Moscow prior to your trip to Kenya.
